Your support helps the Chicago Low-Income Housing Trust Fund provide safe, affordable housing for Chicago residents who need it most.

CLIHTF is funded by city and state resources, which can only be used to support rent payments. These funds cannot cover other urgent housing needs, such as emergency shelter if a unit becomes uninhabitable, move-in fees, basic furniture, or temporary hotel stays during issues like pest extermination.

To help bridge this gap, CLIHTF is establishing a Tenant Emergency Fund to support residents experiencing urgent housing crises. Donations to this fund will provide short-term assistance for households facing unexpected financial hardships, like helping them remain safely housed and avoid displacement.

Your contribution helps ensure that Chicago’s most vulnerable renters, including seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and working families, can maintain stable housing during times of crisis and continue building secure futures in their communities.
